Congressman Thompson's visit

We enjoyed Congressman Mike Thompson’s visit to the Library today to discuss our 2010 Federal Appropriations Application for the Sonoma Valley Regional Library Renovation Project. Thank you to Mayor Barbose and Councilmember Sanders for making time for the visit. Library Commissioner Mary Evelyn Arnold gave the tour, with the Friends of the Library represented by Janet Constantino.

Water Wisdom Workshop announcement
The City of Sonoma, Sonoma Ecology Center, La Luz, and Sassarini Elementary School have been working together to organize a Water Wisdom Workshop. The event will be held at Sassarini Elementary School located at 652 Fifth Street West in the City of Sonoma on Saturday, February 27th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The purpose of the event is to educate Sonoma Valley residents on the importance of conserving water. Speakers will present on a variety of water-related topics throughout the day, including: conservation, greywater, irrigation, creek stewardship, stormwater runoff, and many others. Vendor booths will display water products, show off new innovations, and inform the public about their use. Information about free water conservation programs and how you can participate in them will be available. In addition, Spanish-speaking translators will be on hand to translate presentations and answer questions.
Raffle prizes will be available throughout the day, including a water efficient, front-loading washing machine. This event is free to the public and children must be accompanied by an adult.
